“Register early, win big” – Coordinator

The Nand Persaud Group of Companies through their Sky Plus Promotion Group is at it again ahead of this weekend’s mega one-day Sprint Classic Horserace meet. Dubbed the ‘Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Sprint Classic’ the event is set for the Company’s racing facilities, No 36 Village, Macedonia Estate, Corentyne, Berbice.
Known as a pacesetter and for its innovation, generosity and organising ability, the Company has thrown up a number of incentives for horse owners and participants alike to benefit from.
According to Coordinator Mohendra Persaud, horse owners who register and pay in full by today’s closing date will get a 20 percent discount on entries.
In addition, owners who enter by today’s closing date will be given the privilege of choosing a gate number, thus giving them an advantage.
Seven races are carded with over $4M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the takings. Meanwhile, a number of other companies have joined major sponsors Trophy Stall, Ansa McAl, Stag Beer, 4R Bearings and Dalip in providing sponsorship. They include Exotic Style Trucking Service, Gupta Trucking Service, Abdul Latiff, Mikey Trucking Service, Annirude Construction and Tajeram Jainarine among others.
Horserace fans will be in for a treat at the only racing facility of its kind in the country where the horses will be running in a straight line with over 45 horse already entered.
The events listed for the day will see horses competing in the feature D and lower event over 880 yards for a winning purse of $400,000 and trophy.
The event for animals classified H and lower is for a top prize of $260,000 and trophy also over 880 yards.
There is an event for J class animals over 660 yards for a $200,000 winner’s purse and trophy.
The K class and lower animals will be competing for a winning take of $140,000 and trophy over 660 yards.
There are three events for animals classified L and lower. All three events will see the winner taking home $100,000 and trophy over 660 yards. The first will be open for all L class animals. Another will be for L class non-winners (that have not won a race). The final L class event will be for animals that would not have placed or earned during their career as yet.
The Champion jockey, trainer and stable will all be rewarded with trophies and other incentives compliments of the Trophy Stall in Bourda Market, Georgetown.
As is synonymous with events organised by the Nand Persaud Group of Companies through its Sky, Technology arm, a photo finish camera, big screen Television and other amenities will once again be used during the course of the meet.
There will also be added attractions, family entertainment, bouncy castle, face painting and other games for young turfites.
