Registration closes for KMTC Boxing Day Extravaganza
The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) annual Boxing Day tradition which started since 1936 continues this year with a one-day seven-race programme at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Coast.
The feature event this year will see horses classified B2 and Lower covering a distance of nine furlongs with the winner set to ride away with $1,000,000 while $500,000 will go to the second place finisher, $250,000 for the third and $125,000 for the fourth place finisher.
For the 10th consecutive year, the Kharag family owners of Metro-Office and Computer Supplies will sponsor the featured race. Ramnarine “Deo” Kharag is a former president of the KMTC and the day’s big race is held in his honour.
With lots of entries coming in already, the organizers are reminding horse owners and jockeys that today is the final day of registration which closes at midnight.

Other events that are carded for the day are the F and Lower, H and Lower, J3 and lower, L Class Non-Winners, L Class Open and the race for 2-year-old Guyana Bred horses all for fabulous cash prizes and trophies.
