The Public Works Ministry has issued an immediate removal notice to the owner(s) of a vehicle and trailer currently situated along the Mon Repos Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD). In a social media post, the Ministry stated that the owner is required to remove the items without delay. It warned that failure to comply will result in the Ministry intervening to have the vehicle and trailer removed.
The notice further stated that individuals who repeatedly relocate their property from one location to another, or continue to disregard official removal notices, risk having their property seized by authorities. According to the Ministry, while Government is not seeking to permanently withhold property, all costs associated with any removal carried out by the Ministry will be the responsibility of the defaulting owner. It added that owners wishing to reclaim seized items must first visit the Ministry to settle outstanding removal costs before upliftment is permitted. The Ministry also reiterated its call for public cooperation in keeping roadways clear and safe for all users. Similar enforcement notices have previously been issued by the Ministry and other agencies as part of ongoing efforts to address derelict vehicles and obstructions along major roadways across the country.
