RHTY&SC gear up to host 28th Annual Awards ceremony

According to all indications, plans are running smoothly as the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club continue preparing to host their largest awards ceremony yet. The pomp and splendor will do down at the Training Hall of the St. Francis Community Developers located in Berbice.
Club Secretary/CEO, Hilbert Foster, who is spearheading the planning of the event along with Vice President Mark Papannah and Assistant Secretary Simon Naidu, has disclosed that all plans are in place for a highly successful affair.

President David Granger is expected to grace this prestigious event with his esteemed presence. No stranger to this organization, he will be delivering the feature address. Rose Hall Town Mayor Vijai Ramoo, Region 6 Chairman David Armogan, and Director of Sport Christopher Jones will also be in attendance.
The RHTYSC will be distributing over $2.4 million worth of prizes, trophies, medals, certificates and other awards, and would have the pleasure of presenting their highest award to nine influential persons. On the list to receive ‘The Dolphin Award of Excellence’ are GWI Chief Executive Officer Dr. Richard Van West-Charles, Minister Simona Broomes, Businessman Bishwa Panday, Cricketer Roger Harper, Attorney-at-Law Arudranauth Gossai, Banker Harry Dass Ghaness, Poonai Bhigroog, Clerk of the National Assembly Sherlock Isaacs, and NBS Deputy CEO Anil Beharry.
The RHTYSC would also be handing out in excess of $1M in donations to small groups and cricket clubs in the Berbice area as part of its Patron’s Fund.
The Award Committee has shortlisted National Junior Cricketers Kevin Sinclair and Kevlon Anderson for the Prestigious Cricketer of the Year award, while other awardees expected to be honoured include Jonathan Rampersaud, Mahendra Gopilall, Jeremy Sandia, Mariam Samaroo, Junior Sinclair, Keith Simpson, Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings, Eon Hooper, Clinton Pestano and Shabika Gajnabi.
Club Captain Shawn Pereira will receive the Benefit Year Award, while Mark Papannah, Ravindranauth Kissoonlall, Keith Hicks, Joel Pike, Elizabeth Brusch, Lucy Pike, Simon Naidu, Navin Raghoo, Pamela Brusch and Sunil Madrimootoo would be honoured for their dedication to the club.
A comprehensive report of the club’s work will be presented, and plans for the 2018 calendar year will be rolled out. The club, in 2017, successfully completed a record 712 activities/programmes under a wide range of activities.
