Ricks and Sari’s Regan Rodrigues Memorial cycle race set for Sunday, August 8
The 16th edition of the Annual Ricks and Sari’s Regan Rodrigues Memorial cycle race will take place this Sunday, August 8, on the West Coast of Demerara The action is expected to begin at 8:00h.

This race will commence at Schoonord, and will go to Bushy Park at Parika, East Bank Essequibo before returning to the point of origin for the finish.
Some of Guyana’s top cyclists are expected to compete in this 44-mile event that has been organised by National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed M.S. Last year’s overall winner, Akeem Wilkinson of Team Evolution, is expected to defend his title against the top local cyclists in Guyana.
Eight sprint prizes will be up for grabs, while the top six riders in the senior category would be rewarded. The top three riders in the juniors, masters (two categories) and females’ categories would also be rewarded.
Riders from Team Evolution and We Stand United are expected to dominate this event. The likes of Christopher Griffith, Paul DeNobrega, Deeraj Gharbaran and Andre Green are expected to be among the top finishers.
The late Regan Rodrigues was born on February 21, 1948, and passed away on August 4, 2004. During his lifetime, he served as President of the Carlton Wheelers Cycling Club and was also a champion race car driver.
