Robert Hanoman-Pandit Ravindranauth Persaud Golf Tournament a success

…Ravindra Harry emerges as victor

Adhering to all COVID-19 protocols on Saturday, March 20, 2021, the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) kicked off yet another successful golf tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Robert Hanoman and Pandit Ravindranauth Persaud, two longstanding members of the LGC as part of their birthday celebration.

Emerging as victor of the highly-anticipated contest was Ravindra Harry with 41 points; Anand Persaud was second with 37, followed by Kasim Khan (37); Videsh Persaud (36) and Tom Watkins (36). The Longest Drive prize went to Paton George and the Nearest to the Pin accolade, Khan. A total of 30 persons took part in the competition.
After the competition, Pandit Ravi said, “The tournaments over the past few months have improved dramatically. It is the main reason why more sponsors are getting involved. The all-round dedication among staff and members are unequivocally exemplary. The Club members are high in spirit, and their confidence is demonstrated in no uncertain terms. All challenges which are forthcoming will be overcome.”

Hanoman and Pandit Ravi became acquainted with each other through golf, and have remained united by the game which they have been playing for over 20 years. Hanoman is a top performer on the golf course. He has won several major tournaments and prizes, including first place in his flight in the prestigious Guyana Open.

Both gentlemen have, over the years, made significant and outstanding contributions to the LGC. Pandit Ravi has ensured ground improvements in addition to serving in several executive positions, and Counsel Hanoman has provided legal guidance and direction continuously. They have also provided consistent and voluntary financial assistance by means of sponsorships and assisted in other areas of club development.
The tournament is expected to be an annual fixture on the LGC’s official calendar of events.
