Rockers take care of Hardliners 79-41

Smithfield Rockers reordered their first win in the tournament when they beat underdogs Ithaca Hardliners 79-41 at the Ithaca Court on Sunday when action in the A. Ally and Sons Basketball Tournament continued.

Led by a game-high 23 points from Jamal Felix, the visitors led from the start of the game and never relinquished the lead. At the end of the first quarter the scoreboard read 37-23 and when the half time whistle came they had extended the lead to 37-23.

The lead was extended further at in the third quarter which finished 50-33.

Felix received good support from Kester Sinclair (11), Royan Solomon (7) and Elroy Amsterdam (6).

For the losers, Gladwin Cort led the way with 27 and Tyrone Day 14 points.

The competition continues on Sunday when New Amsterdam Warriors take on Guyana Human Development Centre (GHDC) at their Port Mourant court.
