Saint Pius makes steady progress

Saint Pius Primary made steady progress on Wednesday in the National Sports Commission (NSC) 50 Shades of Games 19 Annual End of School Year Primary Schools Windball Cricket tournament.
Playing at the National Gymnasium Saint Pius Primary boys moved into the quarter finals of the Georgetown zone by beating Sophia Primary after posting a challenging total.
Scores: Saint Pius 93-1 off the allotted five overs with Mickle Leitch top-scoring with 47 not-out and Teon Neblett 46.

In reply Sophia was restricted to 60 without loss when the overs expired. Geraine Stewart made 26 and Ranaldo Austin 22.
In other matches, Saint Ambrose boys beat Saint Angela’s. Batting first, Saint Ambrose chalked up 46-1 off their five overs with Akalem Griffith 30 and Peter Macey 10. Saint Angela’s replied with 43-4 when the overs ran out.  Antonio Mc Arthur top scored with 15. Bowling for Saint Ambrose, Stephon Hope grabbed 2 – 10.
Meanwhile, Sharon James hit a game high of 53 not out to help Bel Air 58 without loss playing against Winfer Gardens.
In reply, Winfer Gardens struggled to 56-6 when the overs ran out. Jermain Lambert 15, Shamar Walcott 13 and Tyrell Peters 11 were the top scorers. Bowling for Bel Air, Ravin Singh picked up 2 for 8.

And Sophia lost by one run to Grahams Hall in the game of the day. Batting first, Grahams Hall reached 74-1 with Anthony Geer 33, Joshua Grootfaam 26 and Omari Lallbachan 15.
Sophia was restricted to 73-2 at the end of their five overs. Geraine Stewart made 33 and Ronaldo Austin 31.
In other results, Saint Pius chalked up 78-0 against Saint Ambrose with Teon Neblett 44 and Selwin Reid 21. Saint Ambrose in reply made 74-3 with Peter Haley making 21.
Saint Angela’s made 54-3 after Paul Grant led the way with a solid 26 and received good support from Akine Henry with 10 playing against Winfer Garden. Bowling for Saint Angela’s Simon Small took 2 for 10.
In reply, Winfer Garden hit off the required runs for the loss of one wicket. Antone Herod top scored with 26 and Tyrell Peters chipped in with 13.
Bel Air surrendered to Grahams Hall after reaching 81 without loss in their five overs. Ravindra Singh 41 and Shoran James 40.
Grahams Hall replied with 85-1, Omali Medas 38 not-out, Anthony Geer 28 and Joshua Grootfaam 13 not-out.
