Home News Sanitary facility at Anna Regina Bus Park to be renovated
The sanitary facility at the Anna Regina minibus park is expected to be renovated and back in operations for the public’s use shortly.
This was according to Mayor of Anna Regina, Rajendra Prabhulall, who along with Deputy Mayor, Town Clerk, Superintendent of Works and Councillors visited the area based on the request of the operators who are mostly affected.
During the visit an assessment was done for the complete renovation and other developmental works. According to the newly elected Mayor, the sanitary facility was out of order for a very long time and is now an eyesore to the public and as such, immediate attention will be given to fix it.
The sanitary Block is located inside the area where food and beverages are sold and is now a health hazard to the public.
The team also met with the Regional Chairman, Davanand Ramdatt, who committed his full support to the new executive body.
The officials then met with the new Regional Executive Officer (REO), Dennis Jaikarran, as it seeks support to complete the project.
Jaikarran said that he is happy to meet with the team and will fully support the project and called for a closer working relationship with the regional administration and the municipality.
He welcomed the Mayor and team to his temporary office located in the finance department of the region and said that his door will always be opened to them.
The new Mayor and team also planned to meet members of the business community within the township in order to build a closer working relationship.
Drivers and stall holders were extremely happy that the sanitary block will be back in operation soon.
