Leon Seepersaud beat out a highly competitive field of 33 other pools players to win the Clear Waters Pool competition held at Hot Shots Sports Bar at Eccles East Bank Demerara.
In nail biting final Seepersaud overcame a huge challenge to edge Robert Arjune to claim the top prize. The final was swaying back and forth and it went down to both players still having two balls to drop including the number eight or black ball.
The competition was played using the straight pools rules and was on a knock out basis.
For winning the competition Seepersaud copped the Clear Waters Trophy while the crowd favourite, Arjune had to settle for the runner-up trophy which was donated by Ron Allen the Controller of Pestex Environmental Solution.
The competition which was well supported saw Lester Patoir picking up the Best Pool Player award which was donated by Stag Beer. All prize winners also received Clear Waters as incentives for winning.
At the presentation ceremony that followed the competition, Operations Manager of Clear Waters Narendra Lucknauth said his company was pleased to sponsor the competition as his company always support sports and will continue to do so throughout the country.
Lucknauth said based on the success of the competition there will be a similar venture at Hot Shots Sports Bar in the near future.
