Senior Men’s League: Ann’s Grove, Herstelling Raiders pick wins in scattered games last weekend

Several of Guyana’s Regional members Associations (RMAs) took a pause on Saturday from their Senior Men’s Leagues, in order to direct focus at the Senior Men’s National team’s CONCACAF Nations league contest against Haiti on the said afternoon.
However, on Sunday, it was back to usual programming for several of the Association as the leagues reconvened.
On the East Coast of Demerara, Ann’s Grove FC edged past Melanie FC in a tight contest. Odel Gulliver was the magic man, finding the back of the net in the 43rd minute. The following game in the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) league saw Victoria Kings and Mahaica Determinators holding out for a stalemate.
There were contrasting wins for Herstelling Raiders and Kuru Kuru Warriors in the East Bank Football Association (EBFA) league, also on Sunday.
In the first game, the Herstelling Raiders thumped the Mocha Champs, 6 goals to Mocha’s one. On the other hand, after the St. Cuthbert’s Jaguars went one up in the first half, KK Warriors found the equalizer and the winning one, for a come- from- behind 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, the West Demerara Football Association 9WDFA) took the entire weekend off and as such, will be retuning to action tomorrow, Wednesday, June 15 at the Leonora Track and Field Center.
The first game of the WDFA’s double header will see Pouderoyen FC battling Wales FC from 6pm. The second game will feature Slingers FC, going head to head with the Uitvlugt Warriors commencing at 8pm.
In the Rupununi Football Association’s (RFA) league, Wednesday will be D-day for another two teams. Guyana Rush Saints FC and Tabatinga FC as expected to clash from 8pm, at the St. Ignatius Sports Ground.
