Shipping delay causes Space Gym 2.0 opening delay

… doors to be opened later in April

Brazilian-owned Space Gym – which is currently located at the Status Hotel on Croal Street, Georgetown – recently unveiled its newest location at the Royal Orchid Garden Hotel and Mall located on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.
However, management of this new facility has informed that the opening, which was set for early April 2022, has now been delayed, due to the shipping of the equipment for the gym being still in transit to Guyana.
Management has further indicated that the facilities are ready, and once the ship arrives, the gym would be fully outfitted in the month of April.
Additionally, training for the new staff that would maintain and up the game from a professional perspective is ongoing, according to management, which is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best possible training regimen for the staff that would be interacting with gym members on a daily basis.
Space Gym 2.0 offers fitness guidance and services that include aerobics, strength and flexibility training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, weightlifting, Cross-Fit and group classes. Some of the key elements include the following: reception desk, self-service water/drink area, locker, rooms, waiting/relaxation area with tv screens, treadmill stations, weight area, yoga/Pilates area, elliptical/bicycle area and health bar.
The gym is expected to be a major upgrade from the current location, with more equipment, more modern amenities and features, and lots of additional space covering 15,000 sq ft. Moreover, it would be powered by the Life Fitness equipment brand.
The new state-of-the-art gym is aiming to provide services for all ages and genders. Services would include a variety of fitness equipment workout, group classes, personal training programmes, yoga, and nutrition.
In addition to providing these services, Space Gym would also be a retailer of exclusive fitness products and select food items.
The gym will carry out its day-to-day operations primarily on a membership and appointment basis. All classes and personal training sessions will be scheduled in advance, but the gym itself would be open seven days a week – Monday to Friday 05:00h to 22:00h (5am to 10pm); Saturdays 06:00h to 18:00h (6am to 6pm) and Sundays and holidays 08:00h to 16:00h (8am to 4pm).
