The Berbice Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) Under-17 tournament will continue this weekend across various venues in the ancient county. Fresh from a crushing victory against Paradise, Cotton Tree will now shift attention to Bush Lot United today, Saturday April 2, at Bush Lot West, Berbice.

Rashad Gafur has struck the first century of the tournament

In round one, batting first in the 40-over game against Paradise, Cotton Tree posted 331 all out, with Rashad Gafur slamming 126 which included seven sixes and ten fours. Justin Samid supported with 28, Trevis Dookharan made 22, and Bila Saffie supported with 24. Bowling for Paradise, R McDonald claimed 3 for 48 from 8 overs.

Fast-bowler Arif Khan continues to impress

The Paradise Team scored 28 all out, with Cotton Tree pacers Arif Khan bagging 3 for 8 and Tameshwar Adin bagging 3 for 10. Cotton Tree won by 303 runs.
In upcoming fixtures, Bush Lot United will play Paradise at Paradise on Sunday April 3. The Zone B teams are Achievers A, Achievers B, and Bath. On Saturday April 2, Achievers A oppose Bath at Hopetown. On Sunday April 3, Achievers B battle Bath at Bath.
