Sinclair’s unbeaten 137 powers GCC to 1st-Division 50-over title

Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) captured the Dave West Indian Inc First-Division 50-over title with a commanding five-wicket victory over Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in the final at the DCC Ground, powered by a magnificent unbeaten century from Kevin Sinclair.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl, GCC dismantled the home side’s top order, reducing DCC to 33 for five, with West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Tevin Imlach among those dismissed cheaply.
However, Jonathan Van Lange and Christopher Barnwell restored some respectability to the innings, combining for a 102-run partnership that revived DCC’s hopes of posting a competitive total.
The stand was eventually broken when Barnwell fell for 48 from 54 balls, an innings that included five fours and a six. Van Lange followed shortly afterwards, having scored 45 from 41 deliveries, with five fours and two sixes.
Jaden Dowlin added further resistance with 39 as DCC were eventually bowled out for 200 in 44.3 overs.

Kevin Sinclair and Carlos Larose were the pick of the GCC bowlers, claiming three wickets apiece to restrict the hosts to a manageable total.
In reply, Sinclair produced a dominant display with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 137 from just 105 deliveries to steer GCC to victory. His innings featured 14 fours and 10 sixes as he dismantled the DCC bowling attack.
Ronaldo Alimohamed provided valuable support with 24 from 15 balls, helping GCC race to 202 for five in just 25 overs and secure the championship in emphatic fashion.
Mark Cumberbatch was the most successful bowler for DCC, finishing with figures of four for 42, but his efforts were not enough to prevent GCC from completing a convincing run chase.
Sinclair’s outstanding century proved decisive, capping a dominant performance by GCC as they claimed the Dave West Indian Inc First-Division 50-over crown with five wickets to spare.
