Six to vie for inaugural Miss Cricket Carnival title

Six stunning beauties will set the National Cultural Centre on fire when they participate in the first ever Miss Cricket Carnival pageant, which is slated for Monday, September 26, 2022.
The Hero Caribbean Premier League, “the biggest party in sport”, returns to the Caribbean with six franchises clashing to take home the trophy, which is presently held by St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
However, for the first time, Guyana will be hosting the finals, and to celebrate this momentous occasion, the Government and corporate Guyana have collaborated to host Cricket Carnival, in which are featured super concerts, fashion shows, boat cruises, road parades, food festivals, and many other attractive events.
For the first time ever, a Miss Cricket Carnival Pageant has been initiated, and it will see beauty ambassadors representing their respective islands and countries, which include St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, and Guyana.
The showdown which will bring that carnival vibe is expected to be a kaleidoscope of colours mixed with brain and beauty as each delegate showcases her culture. The delegates have all arrived in Guyana, and are preparing for pageant night, when they will compete in the carnival culture wear, bikini, talent, evening gown, and intelligence segments.
The delegates are: Miss St. Kitts and Nevis, Chalisa Parris; Miss Jamaica, Tyra Spaulding; Miss Barbados, Beviny Payne; Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Melanie Lawrence; Miss St. Lucia, Claire Marissa Smartt; and Miss Guyana, Amel Griffith.
Pageant coordinator Wasim Khan has said, “It’s a great opportunity to highlight the CPL nations, not only for the cricket, but also for what each country has to offer as a tourism destination. It also gives us an opportunity to welcome our sister Caribbean nations to enjoy our unique Guyanese culture”.
Tickets for the Miss Cricket Carnival Pageant cost $2,000, $2500 and $,3,000 respectively, and are available at the Box Office at the National Cultural Centre.
The show kicks off at 20:00h.
