Soesdyke man dies in motorcycle accident

A 27-year-old man of Hill Foot, Soesdyke-Linden Highway is now dead following an accident along the public road at McDoom, East Bank Demerara.
Dead is Steven Armstrong. Reports are that the accident occurred at about 17:30h as Armstrong was proceeding north along the McDoom Public Road on his motorcycle, CK7037. Police say the young man lost control of his bike, and it collided with an articulated vehicle which was at the time passing an offloading minibus.
As a result of the impact, Armstrong fell from his bike and suffered several injuries to his head and body. He was picked up in a semi-conscious state by public-spirited citizens and rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital, where he succumbed at about 19:45h while receiving treatment. Breathalyzer tests were conducted on the drivers of the articulated vehicle and the minibus, and no trace of alcohol was found. Police are continuing their investigation. (G15)
