…relaunches “Love Revolution” initiative
Following a series of international engagements celebrating three decades in fashion, entrepreneurship and service, Guyanese fashion designer and entrepreneur Sonia Noel is bringing her “30 Years of Style, Purpose & Impact” anniversary celebrations home this October, with activities focused on entrepreneurship, love in action, and opportunities for emerging talent.
The programme will feature the Women in Business Expo 30 Special Edition on October 24 and 25 at Pegasus Hotel Guyana, bringing together 30 entrepreneurs for two days of business, networking, shopping, fashion and professional development.
The weekend will begin with the relaunch of Love Revolution on Friday, October 23, followed by Designers’ Quest in-person auditions at Pegasus Hotel Guyana on October 25 and 26.
Together, the initiatives reflect Noel’s vision for her anniversary year: celebrating her achievements while using the experience, knowledge, and relationships gained over three decades to create opportunities for others.
In September, Noel took her anniversary celebrations to the United States, with engagements in Washington, DC; Atlanta; New York and Virginia. In Washington, she was honoured at a special reception hosted at the Embassy of Guyana, where her journey was celebrated through fashion, conversation and a signing of her latest book, Vision Life Book.
She also participated in activities surrounding the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference, showcasing her designs and connecting with leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives and members of the diaspora.
Her engagements continued in Atlanta and New York, where she celebrated her contribution to fashion and culture and connected with supporters, before concluding the series with a media engagement in Virginia.
Women in Business Expo 30: Celebrating a Decade of Entrepreneurship
Launched by Noel in 2016, Women in Business Expo was created to give women entrepreneurs greater visibility, access to customers and opportunities to grow their businesses.
Ten years later, the special anniversary edition returns to Pegasus Hotel Guyana, a valued partner that has supported the initiative since its inception. The Expo will bring together 30 entrepreneurs, including past participants whose businesses have grown and expanded, alongside a new generation of business owners.
Visitors can discover a diverse range of products and services, meet entrepreneurs behind the brands, and begin their Christmas shopping while supporting local businesses. The experience will feature pop-up shops, fashion displays, entrepreneurial stories, networking and other activities designed to encourage business growth and collaboration.
For Noel, the Expo represents more than a marketplace; it is a platform for learning, exposure and empowerment.
An important developmental component of this year’s Expo will be a special session with Dr Anthony Q Bowen, a professor at Grand Canyon University, creator of the Knowledge Structuring Model (KSM™) and developer of Noel’s new website.
Dr Bowen will work with participating exhibitors to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can support business development, how digital technologies are changing the marketplace and how entrepreneurs can strengthen their visibility and competitiveness.
Noel said she wants participants to leave the Expo with more than sales and exposure, gaining practical knowledge and insights to help them adapt to a changing business environment.
Designers’ Quest opens doors for emerging talent
Designers’ Quest will host in-person auditions at Pegasus Hotel Guyana on October 25 and 26, inviting aspiring and emerging designers to meet the team and audition for an opportunity to join the programme.
Created to identify and nurture design talent, the initiative aims to provide mentorship, development, exposure and industry experience. It also reflects Noel’s wider vision of building regional and international opportunities for designers from Guyana, the Caribbean and beyond.
The auditions form part of her commitment to supporting the next generation of fashion creatives and helping emerging designers take meaningful steps towards realising their ambitions.

“Love Revolution” to be renewed
Meanwhile, on Friday, October 23, Noel will relaunch Love Revolution, an initiative she introduced approximately a decade ago to encourage people to demonstrate love through everyday actions.
Guided by the message that “Love is an action word”, the movement promotes kindness, compassion, respect and service towards oneself, others, communities and the environment.
The original initiative reached schools and communities in Guyana, with its message extending internationally through activities and the signature Love Revolution pin. The relaunch will renew efforts to engage young people, families, businesses, faith organisations and other sectors of society, with plans to expand through community, virtual and international activities.
For Noel, faith remains central to the initiative. “For me, it begins with loving God, understanding the importance of loving ourselves and then allowing that love to influence how we treat each other and the world around us. Love must become action,” she said.
The renewed movement is intended to extend beyond a single event, encouraging sustained action that promotes unity, kindness, respect and shared responsibility.
Noel’s October activities form part of her broader 30 Years of Style, Purpose & Impact anniversary programme, celebrating her career while strengthening initiatives in fashion, entrepreneurship, creativity, empowerment and community service. Further activities are planned beyond October, including a focus on men and boys in November.
Through Women in Business Expo 30, Love Revolution and Designers’ Quest, Noel is marking three decades of achievement by turning experience into opportunity and ensuring that the impact of her journey continues through the people and communities she inspires.
