Guyanese fashion designer, entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist Sonia Noel is inviting emerging designers from around the world to step boldly into their purpose through Designers’ Quest, one of the signature events commemorating her 30th anniversary in the fashion industry. Designers’ Quest is a global search for creative talent and will provide aspiring and emerging designers with an opportunity to showcase their gifts on an international platform. The initiative is open to participants worldwide regardless of age, gender, or nationality.

“This is something very close to my heart because I remember what it felt like to be an upcoming designer looking for opportunities and exposure,” Sonia Noel shared. “I wish I had access to a platform like this when I was starting my journey. Designers’ Quest is about creating opportunities, building confidence, opening doors, and helping talented creatives believe in themselves and their vision.”
The competition will begin with the selection of 30 designers from different parts of the world. Participants will then advance through several stages as the competition narrows from 30 to 20, then to the top 10 finalists, before the top three winners are selected. While the top three finalists will receive major prizes and recognition, Sonia Noel emphasised that every designer selected among the final 30 will walk away with valuable opportunities, gifts, exposure, and experiences. “This is bigger than competition,” Noel explained. “This is about community, mentorship, empowerment, collaboration, and giving emerging designers a chance to grow.” Auditions and selections will take place both virtually and in person throughout the Caribbean and other regions, making participation accessible to creatives across the globe. Designers’ Quest forms part of a yearlong celebration marking Sonia Noel’s three decades of impact in fashion, empowerment, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Known for using fashion as a tool for confidence, transformation, and social impact, Sonia Noel has spent the last 30 years building platforms that uplift and empower others. Additionally, the yearlong celebration will place Guyana firmly on the global stage as Sonia Noel continues to expand her impact through fashion, empowerment, culture and philanthropy across the Caribbean, parts of the United States (US), Africa and beyond. Through the various activities planned for her 30th anniversary celebration, international audiences will experience not only Sonia Noel’s journey and creative vision, but also the richness, talent, culture and spirit of Guyana.
“Wherever I go in the world, I proudly carry Guyana with me,” Noel shared. “This celebration is not just about Sonia Noel. It is also about showcasing the beauty, creativity, resilience and potential of our people and our nation on a global platform.” As part of the anniversary celebrations, Sonia Noel will also host “The Global Experience” on June 14, a free international online event bringing together participants from different countries to celebrate creativity, empowerment, purpose, fashion and personal transformation. The Global Experience will feature reflections on Sonia Noel’s journey over the past three decades, fashion showcases, empowerment conversations, inspirational stories, cultural elements, and participation from individuals around the world who have been impacted by her work and mission. Additionally, on June 15, Sonia Noel will officially launch her highly anticipated new publication, “Vision Life Book,” a transformational guide designed to help individuals intentionally create a life aligned with purpose, vision, growth, and fulfillment.
