Sophia resident charged for beating man who entered mother’s yard

Cleveland Williams of North Sophia, Georgetown allegedly beat a man whom he had found in his mother’s yard.
Appearing on Friday last before Magistrate Leron Daly, the 34-year-old Williams originally pleaded guilty with explanation when the charge was read to him.
The charge alleged that on October 19, 2017, at North Sophia, Georgetown, he assaulted Delvon Light so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
The defendant explained to the court that he had warned the virtual complainant (VC) not to enter his mother’s yard, but the man entered anyway. According to Williams, Light barged into his mother’s yard and proceeded to walk up her step. and as such he took action.
He, however, denied that he dealt the VC a beating. As such, Magistrate Daly entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Bail was granted to him in the sum of ,000, and he is expected to reappear in Court today (October 30, 2017).
