Sophia teen arrested with ganja

A 19-year-old E Field, Sophia Squatting Area teen is now in Police custody after he was nabbed with a quantity of cannabis on Sunday.
Ranks from C Division swooped down on the teen’s home after receiving information about the illegal substance on the premises.
According to Police, the teen was found with 40 grams of cannabis concealed in a small bag. He was taken into Police custody and is expected to appear in court shortly.
In March of 2019, a Kitty, Georgetown man was jailed for three years and fined $30,000 after he was found with 8.69 grams of cannabis in his possession. In April, a 27-year-old Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) man was also jailed for three years and fined $30,000 after he was found with 25 grams of cannabis.
