St Cuthbert’s Mission trounce Dora Secondary 3-1

St. Cuthbert’s Mission Secondary is among the latest team to record victories in the Digicel School Football Championship on Thursday.

Playing at the Dora Ground on the Soesdyke Linden highway, the home team went down 3-1 after Mark Clenkian, Elroy Dundas and Paul Henry gave the visitors a comfortable lead with goals in the 3rd, 7th and 13th respectively. Jahmal Harris-23rd scored a consolidation goal for the opposition in the 23rd minute.
Over at the Burnham Park ground, Issano Fields hat-trick lead Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary to a 5-0 hammering of Winifred Gaskin. Fields netted in the 28th, 45th and 60th while Quinton Andrews supported with goals in the -14th and 21st.
At the Beterverwagting, Ground, Bladen Hall managed to edge Bygeval 2-1 with goals by Shamar Adams (21st) and O’Neil Hamilton (41st); Nigel Mansfield scored a late goal in the 70th.
Schools are vying for the top prize of one million dollars towards a school project of their choice, while second will play for $700,000, third $400,000 and fourth $350,000. The championship final is set for July 30 at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
