St Jules books defending champs final spot

The defending champions of the Smalta/ Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Girls Peewee tournament, St Angela’s are one step closer to retaining their title after they blew away St Pius by four goals to one in their semi-final encounter on Saturday.
The reigning champions had their star player Nikasi St Jules to thank as the diminutive forward took matters into her own hands by snaring a helmet-trick. The St Pius defense had no answer to St Jules as she opened her account in the third minute. However the opposition managed to quell her (St Jules) for quite some time even managing to equalize through Kezia Wilson in the 17th minute. It was only two minutes later until St Jules exploded in the 19th minute to bag her second goal and begin a late onslaught on St Pius. St Jules’ third and fourth goals came in the 25th and 30th minutes to firmly cement her team’s place in the final.

Defending Champions St Angela’s moved one step closer to retaining their title by beating St Pius in the semi-final on Saturday at the Ministry of Education Ground

In the other semi-final between the cardinal points of Ruimveldt, South Ruimveldt managed to needle West Ruimveldt to book their place in the final alongside St Angela’s.
Much of the game between the Ruimveldt outfits were spent locked in a midfield battle until the closing moments when Fayon Henry stuck one home for South Ruimveldt to spark celebrations among her teammates and their supporters.
Earlier in the day in the quarter-finals St Angela’s got past Tucville Primary 5-0 while St Pius defeated F.E Pollard Primary 2-1. In the other two matches West Ruimveldt beat Redeemer Primary 3-0 while South Ruimveldt defeated North Georgetown on penalty kicks after they drew 1-1 in normal time.
