Stabbed Baramita woman transferred to GPHC

Twenty-five-year-old Joanna John of Baramita, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini), who was stabbed multiple times about her body is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital and is reportedly in stable but serious condition.
It was reported that the now injured woman and the suspect were imbibing at a shop in the area when an argument broke out between them.
According to Police, the suspect armed herself with a broken bottle and dealt John several stabs about her body. John subsequently collapsed and started to bleed profusely.
The Police were summoned to the scene and John was picked up and taken to the Baramita Health Post where she was admitted a patient, but was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Following the incident, the suspect was arrested. Only recently, 24-year-old Deon Henry of Logg Hill Village, Baramita, was chopped about his body by a woman who he had allegedly slapped.
It was reported that the injured miner was consuming alcohol in the company of the female suspect when an argument ensued between them.
During the argument, the miner dealt the woman several slaps to her face. In retaliation, the woman reportedly armed herself with a cutlass and dealt the man several chops about his body.
Following the incident, the man went home, told his family what had transpired, and was rushed to the health centre in the area where he was treated. The woman was arrested and subsequently charged for the chopping incident.
