Stag Elite League continues tomorrow at Leonora

Leonora’s track and field facility will see a double header tomorrow evening (May 20th) when the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) take on the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) at 19:00 hrs and Fruta Conquerors battle Pele FC at 21:00 hrs in the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Stag Elite League Finale.

Pele FC will be looking to secure their spot in the top four spot with a victory over the in-form Fruta Conquerors with just two games remaining in the Stag Elite League Finale. Pele currently sits in fourth position with seventeen points (17) from twelve games with five victories two draws and five defeats and are level on points with Guyana Defence Force who have one game remaining.

Pele’s leading goal scorer; Gregory “Jackie Chan” Richardson with six goals in this half of the season, will be looking to march his side into the top four and book a playoff spot. However, Fruta Conquerors will not be easily dismantled; they have only lost twice this season with both defeats coming at the hands of points leaders; Slingers FC. Conquerors star man, Hubert Pedro who scored last Sunday while representing Guyana in the international friendly against Canada, has nine goals in the Stag Elite League Finale season and will most

definitely be aiming to add to his tally against a feisty Pele side.

Fruta Conquerors are second in the table with thirty one (31) points with one game remaining as the season comes to a conclusion.

On the other hand GFC who currently sit at the bottom of the table with one point are hoping to end their season on a high against GDF. A win will mark GFC’s first victory in the second half of the season. GFC’s up and coming seventeen year old star Curtez Kellman, who was recently called up to the national side has been one of GFC’s bright spots amid a difficult season as they look to improve for the
