Stage set for ‘fast’ horse racing today

With excellent weather along the Corentyne coast in Berbice over the last few days, jockeys and horse trainers and owners were fine tuning their preparation for today’s spectacular event at the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) at Bushlot Farm.
Today’s six-race programme is organized by Eon, Quaicy and Keyno in collaboration with the number 28 Bushlot/ Adventure in Action Group and promises to exceed expectations with the organizers not leaving any stones unturned.
Bushlot/ Adventure in Action Group is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and the proceeds from today’s event will assist with the ongoing school feeding programme and to give the children of the area a much deserved Christmas party.
The races will run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority with the first event set for 13:00h with admission set at ,000 admission for adults and 0 for junior turfites.

The feature event is the ‘H’ and Lower with $450,000 at stake as the horses are set to gallop over a distance of seven furlongs. The winner will ride away with $240,000 while the second place finisher will pocket $120,000 while the third and fourth place finishers are guaranteed $60,000 and $30,000 respectively.
The following horses have been registered and are expected to be at the starting gates in their respective categories; Red Fire, Red Jet, Red Region, Little Star, Plane Land, Short Man, Princess Saria, Flow Joe, Southern Flight, Daddy’s Dollar, Mary Ann, T and T, Wise Thom, King Stanley, Slim Shady, Black Beauty, Little Kevin, Miss Angalie, Blue Lightening, Royal Pay Master, Royal Progressive, Massaupequea Doctor, Red Weasel, Country Boy, Easy Lion, Perfect Return, Release the Heat, and Kockosciusqko.

There are four other races that will cover fiver furlong each with the ‘K’ and Lower class fetching an overall purse of $225,000; the winner of the ‘L1’ and Lower class race will get $100,000 and the ‘L2’and Lower class will see the battle for $150,000 in total up for grabs.
The unclassified event usually provides lots of excitement with reputation and bragging rights at stake and will see the winner becoming $40,000 richer.
