Patients who waited for hours on Tuesday at the Suddie Hospital on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) to access the X-Ray Department were forced to leave without being attended to after the facility was flooded.
More than 15 persons, including children with broken limbs and other ailments that required an X-Ray, were affected as a result of the flooding, which was reportedly caused by a broken pipe in the Department.
Patients who had travelled from as far as Region One (Barima-Waini) and Wakapao were affected.
The frustrated patients told Guyana Times that while the X-Ray machine is down, the bone specialist is also on leave which meant that even if the x-rays were done, there was no medical expert to advise them on their respective injuries.
