A Surinamese national was on Saturday busted with a quantity of narcotics suspected to be ecstasy and hashish during a Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU)-led operation at Eliza Mary, Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice.

CANU stated that Virjanand Narain was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters in Berbice along with the suspected narcotics where it was weighed and tested.

The ecstasy weighed 69.9 grams while the hashish weighed 101.5 grams. He remains in custody assisting with investigations.
