The prime suspect in the murder of minibus driver Alvin Lorrimer who was killed two weeks ago at the Linden Bus Park is expected to make an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts today.

Lorrimer, 53, of Kara Kara, Linden, was standing on the roadway at the Linden Bus Park, Hadfield Street, Georgetown, around 21:00h on March 22, when two men rode up on a CG motorcycle, one of whom discharged rounds at him before riding away.
Lorrimer was hit to his chest and left foot, and was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he succumbed while receiving medical attention.
Investigators had arrested a suspect whom they believed was the person who rode off with the gunman after the bus driver was shot. The motorcycle was also impounded. The Police have since been on the hunt for the main suspect, Terry Cromwell, also called “Jim Carey”, who was finally arrested on Saturday last.
Police sources confirmed that eyewitnesses identified Cromwell as the shooter on the CG motorcycle that night. Head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Wendell Blanhum told Guyana Times on Tuesday that Cromwell would be taken to court today to answer to the capital charge of murder.
It is unclear whether the biker, who was held for assisting Cromwell in escaping, is still in custody and would also face charges.
