Teen admits to attempting to extort $10M from ex-boyfriend for rape

Nineteen-year-old Princess Williams of Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD), who admitted to attempting to extort $10 million from her ex-boyfriend was remanded to prison.

The teen appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where she admitted that between January 4 and January 7, 2021, with intent to extort money from Kenrick Thomas, she threatened to accuse him of attempting to rape her.
Magistrate Daly has ordered that a probation report be prepared before she hands down her sentence.
The matter has been adjourned to March 1.
It was reported that Williams and Thomas shared a relationship for four months. The woman last visited Thomas’ residence on January 4 where an argument ensued and the relationship ended.
Following the break-up, Williams sent a voice note to Thomas claiming that he raped her.
She further gave Thomas an ultimatum to either pay her $10 million or she would report the alleged rape to the Police.
Upon receipt of the threats, Thomas reported the matter to the Police and Williams was arrested. (G15)
