possession. According to the facts presented before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, between December 6 and December 7, 2017, at Imbaibadi, Upper Mazaruni, Charlie allegedly broke and entered Sheldon Williams’ shop. He allegedly stole eight packs of Bristol cigarettes, three boxes of chicken and chips snacks, small bottles of vodka and $100,000 cash which totalled $110,000. Police further alleged that between November 25 and 26, 2017, Charlie broke and entered the dwelling place of Camilla Hunter at Jawalla Village and stole her Samsung phone and a memory card, which were valued $47,500. The 19-year-old man who told the Chief Magistrate that he works as a miner was said to have been jailed for three months in 2015 for a similar matter. He was placed on $25,000 bail on each charge after he denied the accusations. He was also placed on a bond to keep good behaivour pending the outcome of the trial. The matters were adjourned to March 19 and transferred to the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court where Charlie will make his next appearance.
