TG Titans Cricket Team set for Tobago tour

The Tourism Guyana (TG) Titans Cricket Team are gearing up for a bilateral series against several cricketing counterparts in the twin-island republic.
According to a recent missive, the cricket tour to Tobago from June 3-8, 2026, will see the team will contest three matches against top opposition.
During the tour, the Titans will play two matches against Club Crusoe Cuzins, comprising one 40-over match and one T20 encounter, while also facing Tobago Legends in an additional T20 fixture.
The tour forms part of the team’s ongoing efforts to provide players with regional exposure and strengthen cricketing ties within the Caribbean.

Club Crusoe Cuzins, re-formed in 2010 after an extended hiatus, had a short period of inactivity for a few seasons, but is back with new management and sponsorship. Former Captain Jason Persaud, through his Cuzins franchise and newly-acquired sponsorship support, is leading the team’s return ahead of the upcoming 2027 season.
Persaud, during a conversation with Tourism Guyana representatives, explained that the club’s renewed direction is heavily focused on youth development and long-term sustainability.
“The team lacked the vision of youths for the future, and that is my main focus going forward,” Persaud stated.
He also expressed appreciation to Tourism Guyana and acknowledged the friendships built with several Tobago-based players, which helped make the tour possible.
Team management has also extended sincere gratitude to the sponsors and partners whose support has made the trip a reality. The team acknowledged the contributions of Sonrize Engineering; Beepats; Igloo; Jaigobin Hotel; Papa John’s; Autopit Signs; Dave’s Guyanese Cuisine and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport for investing in sports and youth development.
Meanwhile, the TG Titans, established in 2024 as a tapeball playing team, elevated their status to the hardball arena last year through several exhibition games and round-robin tournaments.
The highlight of their brief but fruitful foray into the hardball arena came with the winning of the Ogle Cricket Club One-Day cricket extravaganza.
According to team officials, the tour presents an excellent opportunity for players to gain valuable experience while showcasing their abilities against competitive regional teams.
“The support from our sponsors has been tremendous and has allowed the team to embark on this important tour. We are excited for the opportunity to compete in Tobago and proudly represent Guyana,” team representatives noted.
The team are scheduled to depart Guyana on June 3 and return on June 8, 2026.
