Guyana defeated the Windward Islands by 25 runs in their third round encounter at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, on Tuesday last.
Isai Thorne produced a Player-of-the-Match performance while Rampertab Ramnauth and Zachary Jodah took Guyana to 222-9.

In reply, Windward Islands fell short by 25 runs when they were bowled out for 197 in 47.5 overs. Earlier, Windward Islands won the toss and opted to field first; Guyana reached 222-9 in 50 overs with Ramnuath scoring 57 from 105 balls, while Skipper Zachary Jodah scored an unbeaten 45.
Isai Thorne chipped in with 21 from 16 balls batting at number 10, to ensure the Guyanese to a respectable total. Bowling for Windward Islands, Deshonte Thomas had 3-30 in seven overs.
In reply, Windward Islands lost three wickets inside six overs but the rebuilding came when the fifth wicket added 66 runs. Mahid Lambert hit an even 50 for Windward Islands but the Guyanese bowlers, led by Thone, displayed a collective effort. Player-of-the-Match Isai Thorne finished with 3-59 in 10 overs while Thaddeus Lovell had 2-35. Krsna Singh and Matthew Pottaya had one wicket each.
Guyana’s next opponent will be Leeward Islands on April 18.
