Home Sports Tigers still ahead despite Den Amstel stalemate
Western Tigers have managed to maintain a slim lead in the third season of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League despite their goalless draw with host Den Amstel on Sunday.
It is understood though the match could not find a goal, it found favour with controversy as Rafael Edwards (Tigers) and Dwayne St Kitts (Den Amstel) were sent off in the in the 87th minute due to a heated altercation.
In the other match of the night, Conquerors were held to 1-1 score line with Buxton United. Nixon Roberston placed the East Coast Demerara unit ahead in the 68th but Gregory Richardson found the equalizer just one minute later.
The league continues this Sunday at the aforementioned venue where New Amsterdam United play Ann’s Grove from 14:00h followed by the hosts against Milerock from 16:00h.
