Fruta Conquerors Football Club (FC) will look to preserve their place in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League tonight when they face Timehri United FC in a decisive promotion-relegation playoff at the National Training Centre (NTC), Providence.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30h and will determine whether Conquerors remain in the country’s top tier, or Timehri will earn promotion after falling short in Sunday’s Elite League Playoff final.
Timehri were beaten 2-0 by Camptown Football Club on Sunday night, a result that sent Camptown into the Elite League for the first time. The Georgetown-based club completed a historic night through goals from Shane Jones and Ozeal Small.
Jones opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Small sealed the result in the 73rd, as Camptown’s defence held firm to secure direct qualification to the 2026/2027 Elite League.

For Timehri, tonight’s match offers a second chance at promotion. They now face ninth-place Elite League 2025 finishers Fruta Conquerors, with the winner taking the final available place in the next season of the league.
Timehri will enter the contest hoping to rediscover the form that carried them into Sunday’s final. Last week, they produced a clinical second-half performance to defeat Beavers FC 4-0 in the playoff semi-finals.
After a goalless first half, Leroy Evans broke the deadlock in the 47th minute before Nyron Barrow doubled the lead seven minutes later. Shawn Steele added a third in the 68th minute, while Michael Correia completed the victory in stoppage time.
Camptown had also booked their place in the final with a comfortable semi-final win, easing past Potaro Strikers FC 3-0. Small scored twice in that match before Jomaal Sedock added a stoppage-time goal.
