Tipped to run things! Steve Ninvalle is likely to become Guyana’s next Director of Sport

President of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GBA) Steve Ninvalle is likely to be appointed Director of Sport. This is according to a well-placed source within the relevant organization.
Ninvalle has long been one of the front runners for the position, owing to his vast experience in sport administration. Now, with the National Sports Commission Board in place, it appears as though the GBA boss is closer to receiving the position officially.

Aside from his elected post at the helm of the GBA, Ninvalle has also been a part of the Caribbean Boxing Steering Committee, of which he was Chairman before resigning from the post in October 2020. He was elected to that post in 2019.
On the International stage, Ninvalle was the first Caribbean Executive Committee Member of the International Boxing Association (AIBA), elected in 2014. In 2017, he was elevated to the Executive Bureau of that same entity, before ascending to the position of Chairman of AIBA’s Youth Commission in February 2019. During the same period of time, Ninvalle was elected as the Vice President of the Americas Boxing Confederation (AMBC).
On the local front, Ninvalle garnered his Government knowledge as a Parliamentary Secretary, and was also employed as a Sports Journalist and later Sports Editor. He was re-elected as the President of the GBA in 2016.
