Upper East Bank Titans have been confirmed as the seventh franchise for the Demerara Cricket Board’s (DCB) T10 fundraising competition, with Deokie Service Station of Soesdyke and Naila D Investment of Long Creek joining forces to sponsor the team.

The tournament is scheduled for November 22 at the LBI Ground, where eight franchises will compete to help raise funds for cricket development across Demerara. Play will begin at 10:00h and continue under lights, with admission set at GY$1000.
The Titans are the second franchise from the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) to be confirmed, joining Mae’s Spartan. The other confirmed teams are Premier Insurance, Mike’s Tynor XI, Navin’s Construction Lusignan Bulls, Young Rivals and the Guyana Police Force. The eighth and final franchise is expected to be announced later this week.
Office Administrator/Supervisor Nalinie Persaud, representing both sponsoring companies, said they were pleased to support a franchise in the competition. She also extended best wishes to the DCB in its efforts to raise funds for the development of cricket throughout the county.
DCB Vice President Puneet Jaigopaul welcomed the partnership and thanked Deokie Service Station and Naila D Investment for their contribution through the franchise initiative.
He highlighted the importance of support from businesses along the East Bank corridor, noting that corporate partnerships play a valuable role in sustaining the growth and development of cricket.
The competition will bring together leading local talent, with squad requirements designed to support both county representation and opportunities for young players.
Each franchise must submit a 15-player squad containing at least 12 players from Demerara. A maximum of three players may come from outside the county.
Teams must also select two Under-19 players in their squads, with at least one included in the starting XI.
The youth requirement forms part of the DCB’s wider efforts to give emerging cricketers meaningful competitive experience and strengthen their pathway through the sport.
