The Trinbago Knight Riders have suffered only one defeat in their Hero CPL 2019 campaign — in their last match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, wherein despite scoring 216 runs, the match had to be decided by a super over, and Carlos Brathwaite proved to be their nemesis with both bat and ball.
Trinbago Knight Riders
Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard, who came out to bat for TKR in that super over, could manage only five runs, as opposed to the Patriots’ 18.
That notwithstanding, the Trinbago Knight Riders are sitting comfortably in second place on the CPL 2019 points table, with four wins and one loss from five matches. They have eight points and a net run rate of +0.97.
St Lucia Zouks
Lendl Simmons has been the most successful TKR batsman with 261 runs from five matches, at an average of over 50. Kieron Pollard and Colin Munro have also been good. All-rounder James Neesham has picked up the most wickets for the team, and will remain a vital cog in that wheel despite going for more than 60 runs in the last match.
The Saint Lucia Zouks, on the other hand, have just one win from four matches, which is why they have only two points and a net run rate of -0.691.
Rahkeem Cornwall and Obed McCoy are respectively their leading batsman and bowler.
Probable playing XI of both teams:
St Lucia Zouks: Andre Fletcher, Rahkeem Cornwall, Kavem Hodge, Colin de Grandhomme, Daren Sammy, Roland Cato, Thisara Perera, Kesrick Williams, Hardus Viljoen, Obed McCoy, Fawad Ahmed
Trinbago Knight Riders: Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Colin Munro, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Mark Deyal, James Neesham, Seekkuge Prasanna, Khary Pierre, Anderson Phillip, Ali Khan.
