Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Zone…
The Linden Zone of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Football Championship will conclude this evening at the McKenzie Market Tarmac and a new champion is expected to be crowned since defending championships Team 25 will be a mere spectators to the thrilling finale expected between Dave and Celina All-stars and Swag Entertainment; in third place play-off Team 25 will play Jermaine and Family Silver Bullets.
In the semi-finals held on Thursday evening at the Silver City tarmac, All-stars stun the champs with a powerful 2-0 victory orchestrated by goals from Keon Seth and Kennard Simon (39th).
In the other match, Swag Entertainment thumped Silver City Bullets 4-1 on the back of a hat-trick from Colwyn Drakes who scored in the 4th, 25th and 32nd while Shane Luckie netted in the 9th; Jermaine Samuels added the consolation in the 19th. The winning team will take away $400,000 and the championship trophy along with the opportunity to play in the National Playoffs.
Second, third and fourth placed finishers receive $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
