The Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/East Coast Demerara Football Association (ECDFA) Youth Ensemble Under-13 League continues this Saturday at the Buxton Ground with five intriguing fixtures set to shape the early standings in the competition’s second round.
After two rounds of matches, Melanie Football Club (FC) sit comfortably at the top of the table with a perfect six points from two games, scoring eight goals while conceding just twice. However, with several teams hot on their heels, this weekend’s fixtures could significantly alter the standings.

The headline fixture at 11:00h. sees leaders Melanie FC take on Buxton Stars, who are currently second with four points. Buxton remain unbeaten after recording one win and one draw and boast one of the league’s strongest defensive records, conceding only once so far.
Melanie’s free-scoring attack has been the standout feature of the season to date, but Buxton Stars will believe they have the organisation and discipline to halt the leaders’ momentum. A victory for Buxton would see them leapfrog Melanie and throw the title race wide open.
The action gets underway at 10:00h. when Ann’s Grove United face Mahaica Determinators. Ann’s Grove have endured a difficult start, losing both of their opening matches and sitting ninth in the standings. Mahaica Determinators have collected one point from two games and will view this encounter as an opportunity to climb away from the lower end of the table. With both teams desperate for a positive result, an evenly contested battle is expected.
At noon, Mahaicony Western Lions meet Victoria Kings FC. Victoria Kings are among a group of teams on four points and remain firmly in contention near the summit. They will enter the contest as favourites against a Mahaicony Western Lions side still searching for their first points after two defeats. A win for Victoria Kings could potentially move them into first place, depending on results elsewhere.
The 13:00h fixture pits Golden Stars FC against Haslington Stars FC. Both sides have made encouraging starts to the campaign. Golden Stars sit fourth with four points, while Haslington Stars are fifth with three points following one win and one loss. With only a single point separating the teams, this match could prove crucial in determining which club remains in touch with the league leaders.
The final match of the day at 14:00h features Plaisance FC against BV/Triumph United. Plaisance occupy the sixth position on three points after an inconsistent opening to the season, while BV/Triumph United are unbeaten despite drawing both of their matches. A victory for either side would strengthen their push toward the top half of the table and keep them within striking distance of the leaders.
