Tucber Park Cricket Club (TPCC) will have four young cricketers that will play for Guyana at the upcoming West Indies Rising Stars Regional Under-19 tournament.
The executives and members of the TPCC extend congratulations to Micah Amsterdam, Thierry Henry, Jayhayden Rohlehr and Gilbert Griffith Jr on their selection to the Guyana Under-19 Squad.
Gilbert Griffith Jr finished the just-concluded Under-19 Inter-county as the leading wicket-taker, while wicketkeeper Thierry Henry bagged the most dismissals.
Both Rohlehr and Amsterdam bowled with good pace and were highly touted among the tournament’s best fast bowlers.
The 23-man squad will be engaged in a pre-tournament encampment before the final fourteen-member team departs for Antigua on July 7.
Tucber Park continues to produce national and international players. Zeynul Ramsammy, who made his first-class debut, was the most recent senior production from the club.
West Indies duo Romario Shepherd and Shamar Joseph, along with Nial Smith, who is at the West Indies High Performance clinic for fast bowlers, continue to fly the Tucber Park flag high.
The selected players are Justin Dowlin, Jonathan Mentore, Shamar Apple, Joshua Budram, Darwin Joseph, Dhanesh Persaud, Micah Amsterdam, Parmeshwar Ram, Romario Ramdeholl, Adrian Hetmyer, Razam Koober, Yannick Newton, Gilbert Griffith, Feaz Baksh, Richard Ramdeholl, Dave Mohabir, Thierry Henry, Khush Seegobin, Gibran Yacoob, Emmanuel Lewis, Jayhayden Rohler, Darrius Pearson, and Shazim Mohamed.
