Transport Sports Club (TSC) were crowned champions of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Under-17 Eline Security Logistics competition after defeating Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by 34 runs in the final at the Transport Sports Club ground.

After winning the toss, DCC elected to bowl and restricted the home side to 144 in 28.4 overs. Middle-order batsman Emmanuel Lewis led the TSC batting effort with a well-compiled 41 off 42 balls, striking three fours and three sixes. Shamar Apple contributed 24 from 35 deliveries, while Riaz Latif added 19 from 27 balls.
DCC’s bowling attack was led by Kaylon Callender, who claimed three wickets for 34 runs, while Joshua Charles supported with two for 11 to keep TSC to a modest total.
In reply, DCC made a promising start to their run chase, with openers and top-order batsmen Lomar Seecharan and Nathan Bishop putting together a crucial 63-run second-wicket partnership. Bishop scored 29 from 29 balls, including four fours and a six, before Latif broke the stand by trapping him leg before wicket.
However, TSC regained control through the outstanding bowling of Shazim Mohamed, who dismantled the DCC batting line-up. Seecharan, who had played a valuable innings of 45 from 46 balls, fell as Mohamed began to turn the match decisively in the home side’s favour.
Mohamed finished with impressive figures of five wickets for 45 runs as DCC collapsed to 110 in 26.5 overs, handing TSC a memorable 34-run victory and the Under-17 championship title.

Lewis was named Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) and also received the award for Most Runs, finishing the preliminary round with 447 runs, including five half-centuries and a highest score of 97. He also claimed the Best Fielder award after taking six catches and effecting two run-outs.
Apple earned the Highest Individual Score award for his unbeaten 250 from 115 balls against Malteenoes at Malteenoes Ground, an innings that featured 22 fours and 20 sixes.
Callender took home the Most Wickets award with 19 wickets, while his best bowling figures of four overs, one maiden, 12 runs and seven wickets against Queen’s College at the QC Ground earned him the Best Bowling Figures award.
In the final’s individual awards, Callender was named Best Fielder after recording one catch and one run-out. Mohamed’s match-winning five-wicket haul earned him both the Best Bowler and Player of the Match awards, while Seecharan received the Best Batsman award for his 45.
TSC’s disciplined batting effort, backed by a decisive bowling performance from Mohamed, ensured that the home side finished their campaign on a high note, lifting the Eline Security Logistics Under-17 title in convincing fashion.
