Trio granted $75,000 bail each on plywood theft charge

Two men and a woman were on Thursday arraigned on larceny charges before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts four years after they reportedly stole millions in plywood from Toolsie Persaud Limited, one of Guyana’s largest manufacturing companies.
Oliver Coates, 66; Jacquelyn Mangru, 46, and Joseph (only name given), 55, were not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that between June 5, 2011 and November 7, 2012, they stole 12 crates of plywood valued .8 million, property of Toolsie Persaud Limited.
There were no objections to bail in the sum of ,000 each by Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones. The case will continue on May 9.
