Three men, who had escaped from the Lusignan Prison on September 23 and October 21, 2020, respectively, were jailed on Monday.
Charged: Leroy Graham
Jailed are 23-year-old Leroy Graham of Middle Walk, Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD); Alex Mathias of Good Hope Dock Yard, Essequibo, and Arnold Kennedy of Lot 487 Zeeburg Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara (WCD). They all appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at Vigilance Magistrate’s Court where they admitted to the charge of escaping from lawful custody.
The charges against them stated that they escaped from lawful custody on September 23 and October 21, 2020, respectively.
Magistrate Azore sentenced Graham to two years’ imprisonment while Kennedy and Mathias were sentenced to three years each.

Kennedy was previously charged for the July 18, 2020 murder of 20-year-old Alvin Seenarine, also called “Chockoloo,” while Mattias was on remand for the murder of Kevin Bettencourt.
Meanwhile, Graham was sent to prison on August 20, 2020, after being charged with armed robbery. (G1)
