Trophy Stall annual badminton tourney serves off Wednesday

The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) has once again teamed up with the benevolent sport agency, Trophy Stall, to stage the annual age group badminton tournament.
Set to serve off on Wednesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, the competition will attract rivalry in the Under-11, 13 and 17 categories, as well as the Open Single.
Games will be played from 17:00h to 20:00h on Wednesday and from 09:30h to 12:30h on Saturday when the category finals will be held.
The GBA, in a press statement, said it is extremely pleased that Trophy Stall’s Managing Director Ramesh Sunich came on board in supporting the sport again this year.
Trophies will be given to the top three finishers in each division.
“The tournament, which will run for one week, already has 40 entries in the different ages and it is expected to be a very competitive and exciting tournament. Players are asked to be on time and dressed in sportswear. All rules will be in effect,” president of the Guyana Badminton Association, Gokarn Ramdhani, stated.
Among the top players to grace the floor is Narayan Ramdhani, the 2015 national junior sportsman of the year.
