The Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) and Trophy Stall have teamed up for the 8th edition annual Doubles tournament which commences this upcoming weekend at the National Racquet Centre in Georgetown and at the Le Resouvenir East Coast Demerara courts.
The categories will see players contesting in the; Men’s Doubles, Ladies Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Men’s Over 45. Suited mostly for the seasoned doubles players, the format is regarded as the most intense in the game, which requires a battle of skills, power and excellent hand work at the net.
Trophy Stall has been a valued partner in keeping this form of the game alive. This will be the last tournament for the year on the Association’s calendar. Proprietor of Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich recognized the state of play tennis is currently facing and the association has continued to work with degrading facility but players brave the circumstances to have fun and engage in battle for the titles.
This year will showcase high drama and battles as players contend in the last tournament of the year to finish the season strong in hopes of securing their spot at the top of the ranking table.
