The Westside Golf Course will host the Trophy Stall Golf Challenge on Saturday, August 1, with dozens of new and experienced golfers expected to compete in an exciting afternoon of skills-based competition.
Organised by the Guyana Golf Association (GGA) and Nexgen Golf, the event forms part of the continued effort to make golf accessible to people of all ages while promoting greater participation in the sport across Guyana.
Competitors in the Men’s, Women’s, and Junior categories will test their abilities in the Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, and Nearest to the Pin challenges, with players competing for trophies and bragging rights.

Trophy Stall has been a longstanding supporter of golf and numerous other sporting disciplines in Guyana. Managing Director Ramesh Sunich praised the rapid growth of the sport, stating, “We have been supporting Mr Hussain and the development of golf for more than 10 years. Based on the rapid growth of the sport under his guidance, Trophy Stall believes golf will become a major sport in Guyana.”
The company offers a wide selection of trophies, plaques, medals, and banners from its new South Road location and its Bourda Market outlet.
The competition is open to the public, with tee-off scheduled for 16:00h. Spectators are encouraged to attend and enjoy the action from the restaurant overlooking the course.
Located just off the Crane Roundabout on the Schoonord Highway, the Westside Golf Course is Guyana’s only public golf facility featuring a full-service restaurant open to the general public, with no membership or reservation required.
