New Campbellville Secondary and St Stanislaus College captured their respective Zonal Titles in the 2026 Beharry Secondary Schools Under-19 T20 Cricket Tournament, following victories at the Queen’s College (QC) Ground on Thursday.
New Campbellville defeated QC by 62 runs in the Zone Five North Georgetown final, with Mickel Johnson producing an impressive all-round performance.
Johnson struck a brisk 64 from 42 balls to lead New Campbellville to 105 for eight from their allotted 20 overs. Tyrell King supported with 25, while Jaren Boucher claimed two wickets for seven runs, and Nathaniel Sukhnandan took two for 12 for QC.
QC struggled from the beginning of their run chase and were dismissed for just 43.
Johnson followed his half-century with four wickets for nine runs to complete a match-winning display. Jamal Samuels collected three for 12, while Jermaine Grosvenor finished with two for seven.
Meanwhile, St Stanislaus College successfully defended a modest total to defeat Charlestown Secondary by 13 runs in the Zone Four South Georgetown final.
St Stanislaus managed 90 for seven from their 20 overs, after experiencing several setbacks with the bat. Brendon Arjune continued his good form in the tournament with an unbeaten 23, which helped his team reach a defendable total.
Andri Sammy was Charlestown’s leading bowler with two wickets for 16 runs.
Charlestown appeared to have a manageable chase but were bowled out for 77 in 16.3 overs. Dequan Hetsberger top-scored with 23, but received little support as wickets fell regularly.
Aden Coonjah led the St Stanislaus bowling attack with three wickets for nine runs, while Antonio Forde claimed two for six. Their timely breakthroughs prevented Charlestown from building any significant partnerships and secured the zonal title for St Stanislaus.
