Goals from Kareem Josiah, and Jeremiah Bowman secured the hard fought win while Omar Glasgow netted for the losers.

Twenty two minutes into the game, Glasgow put his side ahead but five minutes before half time, Josiah scored to level the score line. The battle intensified after the interval but it was only Bowman who found favour when he etched his name in the score sheet in the 59th and sealed the win; Victoria’s Simon Jones received a red chard in the 89th for a dangerous tackle on the line.

In the other match, Plaisance Panthers and Ann’s Grove played to a draw Jaheem Hinds netting in the 48th for Plaisance and Antwan Thomas in the 23rd for Ann’s Grove.

On Saturday in Essequibo, Darthmouth romped to a 5-0 win over Good Hope with Victor Garraway netting four goals and Jamal Boston scoring one. Chariy got the better of Henrietta with 3-0, Gavin Nedd and Vivian James were among the scorers. On Sunday, Charity secured a walkover win against Queenstown.

In the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) leg, Slingerz FC made light work of Beavers FC when they hammered them 6-1 at the Den Amstel Community ground.

The result for the young Slingrez outfit never seemed in doubt and by the end of the first half they were leading by a comfortable 2-0 margin; both goals came off the boot of Brentnol Bobb in the 10th and 30th minute, respectively. Ronaldo Macey hammered in the first of his double in the 48th minute before Beavers finally pulled one back through Shaquel Richards in the 55th minute. But that was the first and last time that the West Bank boys were able to find the back of the nets.

Three minutes later it was back to goal scoring business for Slingerz when Macey achieved his second goal and to close off proceedings, Rivaldo Smith banged in two of his own in the 70th and 72nd minute to complete the rout for Slingerz.
