Wauna Primary Top crowned Mabaruma champions in Blue Water Girls U15 competition

Wauna Primary Top emerged as champions of the Region One Sub-District-Mabaruma segment of the Blue Water Girls Under-15 Inter-Secondary School Football Competition after securing two victories when play continued on Saturday.
Wauna opened their campaign in dominant fashion with a commanding 6-0 win over Hosororo Secondary. Melina Robinson led the attack with four goals, while Angelie Fitzpatrick supported with a brace to complete the one-sided result.

Wauna Primary Top was crowned champion of the Mabaruma Sub-District in Region One

They then sealed the sub-district title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over North West Secondary in the final game of the day. Robinson once again proved decisive, converting from the penalty spot to score the lone goal of the encounter.
North West Secondary had earlier started the competition strongly with a 3-0 victory against Hosororo Secondary. Delisa Chilcot produced an outstanding individual display, netting all three goals to register the tournament’s first hat-trick in the sub-district competition.
Despite North West Secondary falling short in the decisive fixture, Chilcott’s performances across the day earned her the Most Outstanding Player award.
Hosororo Secondary endured a difficult outing, suffering defeats in both of their matches without finding the back of the net.
