WBD grandpa busted with suitcase full of ganja

A 64-year-old man from Bagotville, West Bank Demerara (WBD) has been apprehended by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) with a suitcase full of compressed marijuana.

CANU said that Clarence Wrights of Lot 54 Bagotville, WBD, was caught with the illicit drug on Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of Stabroek Market Square.

CANU Officers intercepted the Wrights after he was entering the city from the West Bank of Demerara by way of the Stabroek Market Stelling in Georgetown. He was seen pulling a suitcase which when searched the suspected narcotics were uncovered. 

The search unearthed 9 parcels of compressed marijuana amounting to 4.508 kilograms, 2 Ziploc bags with 12 grams of ganja and a quantity of cash.

He was taken into custody and investigations are ongoing.
